Arch. Sara Favargiotti Ph.D.
(Alessandria,1984) is architect, guitarist and Ph.D. in Urban Design. She graduated cum laude in 2009 at the University of Genoa. From 2008 she has been collaborator in different research projects on territorial transformations of contemporary city issues, including "The Eco_Univercity Genoa Project" in collaboration with the TU München (2008-2009), "LUNGOILMARE: Continuty, modifications, and permanencies: a development hypothesis of 25 km of West Ligurian waterfront" (2008-2010), the Preliminary Research to the General Urban Plan for the Municipality of Lecce (2010-2015), the "ESPON 2013-Airports as drivers of economic success in peripheral regions" project (2011-2013), and the national research project "Recycle Italy: new life cycle for architectures, infrastructures and landscape" (PRIN 2013-2016).
Since 2011 she has been Research Fellow in Urban Design at the Department of Sciences for Architecture, University of Genoa (Italy). In 2011 she obtained her professional habilitation as an Architect and she worked at "SMAQ Architecture and Urbanism Research" in Berlin. In 2013 she has been awarded a MIUR scholarship and she was Visiting Scholar at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain). In 2014 she obtained the Ph.D. degree in the International Doctorate "Villard d'Honnecourt" at IUAV with a thesis titled "Airports On-hold. Towards Resilient Infrastructures". Currently she is a DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) Postdoc Scholar at Leibniz Universität Hannover.
