The book "Territories—Rural-urban Strategies”, published by Jovis Verlag, has been realised in the framework of the University Dialogue Programme Southern Europe of DAAD, supported by the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The book launch on 18.01.2017, 12:30, in the Grand Foyer of the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Sciences in Hannover illustrates the research cooperation between Hannover and Palermo. Its focus on an architectural approach towards rural-urban constellations has been developed and discussed with an international conference and workshop in April 2016 in Hannover, and with a workshop in November 2016 in Palermo. The book collects urban design, architecture, and landscape projects and research for 41 places in Europe. “Territories” engages in the potentials of rural-urban interfaces for a vision of territorial futures: built on implicit knowledge, and on knowledge gained by design. Within the 32 research contributions from Germany, Italy, and Spain are texts by Maurizio Carta (co-editor, Palermo), Manuel Gausa (Genova), Mosè Ricci (Trento), and Carles Llop (Barcelona). Presentation by Jörg Schröder and Maddalena Ferretti.
