The Information Society is bringing new principles and technologies with which to rethink the functioning and structure of our streets, avenues, squares and parks, transforming them into Active Public Space. By fostering people interaction with flows of energy, materials, services and finances is possible to catalyse sustainable economic development and enhance cities resilience and citizens quality of life.
Active Public Space is a project co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. It includes several activities aimed at generating knowledge on the activation of our cities. The Active Public Space exhibition aims to promote the project findings and includes the presentation of selected best practices and interactive installations developed in Barcelona, Vienna and Prague. It will take place in the Leibniz University of Hannover main hall between the 20th November and the 1st December 2017. The project is developed by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, the Centre for Central European Architecture and the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
In the VIDEO&TALK session on 28th November main findings of the project will be presented by Chiara Farinea (IaaC), and discussed for future creative action in European Cities, with Jörg Schröder (LUH) and Mirco Becker (LUH).
The exhibiton is invited by the Institute of Urban Design and Planning of Leibniz Universität Hannover, Prof. Jörg Schröder.
