International Webinar “Public Policies and the Future of Cities in a Post-pandemic Scenario“

The Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU) of Mackenzie Presbyterian University (UPM) aims with the international webinar “Public Policies and the Future of Cities in a Post-Pandemic Scenario” at a plural debate, from the context of different cities and realities, about the scenarios of transformations that each urban centre has experienced in recent months with the Covid-19 pandemic. Some perspectives will be put forward for possible public policies that will have an impact after the end of the pandemic in the most diverse cities, such as São Paulo and other Latin American centres, as well as Johannesburg, Boston, Hanover and London.

For so many points of view on different places, the webinar will feature the participation of leading researchers from some of the world''s leading universities. The first session, at 10am, will be attended by professors Gabriel Chalita, from UPM; Jörg Schröeder, from LUH Hanover, Germany; Margot Rubin, from WITS University, South Africa; Pedro Hartung, from Instituto Alana, Brazil; and Sarah Williams, from MIT, United States. Session two, at 2pm, will have the participation of professors Antonio Carlos Amaral, from Mackenzie Integrity; Anaclaudia Rossbach, from Citties Alliance; Barbara Lipietz, from UCL, London; and Thaddeus Pawlowisky, from Columbia University, USA. Both debates will be moderated by FAU professor Carlos Leite. The event will be opened by the Dean of FAU, Angélica Alvim.
