Matera Soundscapes

The Matera Soundscapes workshop 2–7 November 2018 is a collaboration between the University of Basilicata, the Onyx Jazz Club Matera, and the Institute of Urban Design and Planning (Prof. Schröder) of Leibniz Universität Hannover. As part of the work for Matera Basilicata European Capital of Culture in 2019, the workshop addresses sound as device of design in the Sassi of Matera. It combines a digital sound map, urban design studies, acoustics and performance, involving people with sound artists, composers, performers, and architects.
