THESIS | Bachelor's and Master's

Students enrolled in the Bachelor's programme „Architecture“ or the Master's programme „Architecture and Urban Design“ can write their final theses at the Chair of City and Transformation. The aim of the final thesis is to demonstrate one's own professional competence by working on a self-selected task. The task is discussed in advance with the teaching staff of the department and prepared by the student in the form of an exposé. In terms of content, the task relates to the areas of urban design and transformation represented by the department. Are you interested in a bachelor's or master's thesis on a self-chosen topic? This seminar is designed to help you prepare for your thesis already in the semester. In particular, you should use the seminar to find, concretize and penetrate the topic of your thesis in the best possible way. The seminar is largely based on self-study and is supported by us in terms of content and methodology. We support you individually in developing research-leading questions, developing suitable literature and project examples, planning and planning research methods. The result of the seminar is a documentation of your research. This documentation serves as the basis for the exposé, which you must submit before starting your thesis.
