CAPES/DAAD PhD Double-Degree Grant for Andresa Lêdo Marques

 

Andresa Lêdo Marques (Brazil) has been awarded with a PhD Double-Degree Grant by DAAD and the Brazilian Research Fund CAPES. She is the second Co-Tutelle doctoral candidate jointly led towards a Double-Degree by the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of Mackenzie Presbyeterian University UPM São Paulo and the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape of Leibniz University Hannover, which established together a Doctoral Double-Degree Framework Agreement. Supervised by Prof. Jörg Schröder (LUH) and Prof. Dr.a Angélica T. Benatti Alvim (UPM), Andresa Lêdo Marques focuses on “Planning Paths for Resilience through the Integration of Urban Systems and Ecosystems in Fringe Areas”. In examining the São Paulo Metropolitan region and European reference cases, she highlights the role of urban and territorial planning for metropolitan fringes to face social and ecological challenges. She advocates for the integration of multi-level planning and governance systems, including ecosystem services, in the process towards resilient territories.
