Bogotà’s Rural Heritage: with more than 10 million inhabitants, Bogotá has been considered a megacity since 2018. This is the result of the rapid urbanisation of the Colombian capital region from the second half of the 20th century onwards. Against this background, questions arise from an urban design and planning perspective about the socio-spatial and urban structural changes of this process. "Bogotá's Rural Heritage" approaches these considerations by looking at the transformation of six incorporated villages that are now part of the metropolis. The polycentric view from the periphery opens up a new understanding of the continuous and dynamic transformations of today's megacity and the significance of places and architecture, unfolding a multi-layered cultural heritage.
